In July 2015, Game Informer listed Strider among a top ten list of the best "non-Metroid" Metroid style games. Joystiq awarded the game a 4/5 stars, lamenting the game's lack of challenge which weighed the whole experience down, but stating these were minor issues overcome by the game's "absorbing fusion of action and platforming" and rewarding focus on exploration, referring to it as a successful resurrection of a long-forgotten franchise. Strider received "generally favorable" reviews on Metacritic getting a metascore of 78/100 on PC, 70/100 on PS3, 77/100 on PS4, and 76/100 on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Lot’s of software can run over the multiple CPU’s or utilise the full thread count, mainly CAD and visualisation stuff.
